Micro Focus Forum Agreement
Disparaging Remarks
Disparaging remarks will not be tolerated. When encountered, the offending message will be immediately deleted and the offender will be given a warning not to repeat it. If they do not heed that warning, their access to the Micro Focus Forum will be removed permanently. Disparaging remarks are those that denigrate people, places, companies, products, social entities, and other identifiable classes in a serious and personal manner. Light bantering on the merits of things like the current news items about Microsoft maybe fun, but they don't really belong on a service for Micro Focus customers.
Foul and Abusive Language
No instance of foul and/or abusive language will be tolerated. Messages encountered containing such language will be deleted immediately. The initiator of the message will be warned not to repeat the action. If they do not comply with the rules, their access to the Micro Focus Forum will be removed.
Shouting, Excessive Exclamation and/or Emphasis is Discouraged
The use of shouting (messages, or partial messages, all in caps) should not be used. Similarly, excessive Exclamation or Emphasis (such as text or enlarged lines of exclamation points) in messages should not be used. Messages containing these may be deleted at the discretion of the Micro Focus Forum Moderators, depending upon their overall value. Offenders will be warned against this practice and habitual offenders may have their access to the Micro Focus Forum revoked.
Ownership of Files
Any and all files that are appended to messages within the Micro Focus Forum must be owned by you or be ones that you have proper legal authority to make public. The posting of stolen software, pornography, and other inappropriate materials will cause the message to which they are attached to be removed without notice. Additionally, the person who posted the message, including the offending file, will be warned for minor offenses and will have their Micro Focus Forum access privileges revoked for serious offences.
Sharing of Micro Focus Forum Access IDs and/or Passwords
The sharing of Micro Focus Forum access IDs and Passwords is strongly discouraged. This is for your protection. There are some people who prefer to have a single ID and Password for their group, so several people can have access with a single ID
Virus Checking of Files
Files that you are planning to attach to Micro Focus Forum messages should be Virus checked to insure that they are free of detectable virus strains. Any file that is found to contain a virus will be deleted without notice. Any user who has made an obvious attempt to pass along a virus with the intent to infect the systems of the other users may have their access to the Micro Focus Forum revoked.
Response Time Target
The Micro Focus Forum is a Micro Focus community supported service, not a service of Micro Focus SupportLine. Therefore, there is no set target response time for messages posted on Micro Focus Forum. The Micro Focus Forum is the place where you can put questions or issues out to the Micro Focus community to gain the benefit of their expertise. If you have product issues that you want to report to Micro Focus SupportLine, you should contact SupportLine directly, rather than use this service. If the issue that you are posting to the Micro Focus Forum is critical in nature, it should be submitted directly to Micro Focus SupportLine, either by voice phone to the SupportLine group closest to you, or by submitting an Incident through the SupportLine web site (http://www.microfocus.com/supportline).
Message Longevity and Archival
Messages posted to the Micro Focus Forum will be kept within the Micro Focus Forum based upon their perceived usefulness. Those that have the greatest importance will have their information captured and will be published as part of the Micro Focus SupportLine Knowledgebase service. Those that are deemed to be of limited value (eg. easily found answers for previous product versions) will be removed from the Micro Focus Forum after a reasonable time of availability (planned to be 6 months to 1 year).
Previous Released Product Micro Focus Forum Information
Micro Focus Forum entries for products that have subsequently become superceded will be removed from the service six (6) months after a product release has been replaced by a later release of the same product or by the release of a wholly new product. Important issue information that should be kept will be put into the Micro Focus SupportLine Knowledgebase service.
Message Removal Guidelines
Micro Focus reserves the right to remove any message at it's discretion. Messages will normally be removed when the subject of the messages has no lasting value, when the information within the messages has been captured and published in the Micro Focus SupportLine Knowledgebase, or when the subject of the messages is regarding long superceded products for which newer releases resolve the posted issue(s). Messages will also be immediately removed should they not follow the Micro Focus Forum Rules of Operation.

Micro Focus reserves the right to remove a user's access to the Micro Focus Forum service for one or more of the following:
- Habitual violation of the Micro Focus Forum Rules of Operation.
- The posting of any message, any file attachment, or web URL that is deemed to be pornographic in any way by the monitors of the service.
